Today we give you some fantastic drinks that are inspired by India AND Rock & Roll
It’s Thirsty Thursday today for all you college students out there, and/or anyone else who partakes in this special day and wants to enjoy some fabulous drinks!
Today you’ll find drinks that are inspired by the last two winners of That Bachelorette Show, Prince Al Zaheed and Nicky Fangs.
One is royalty in India while the other is a famous British rock star!
So, lets star with some alcoholic drinks inspired by our very own Prince Al Zaheed.
Meet the Tamarind Margarita!
This drink, inspired by the lovely country of India, features Tamarind paste, which I’m not sure if everyone knows about (honestly, I didn’t). So here’s basically what Tamarind is. Tamarind is extremely tart with a bouquet that is slightly fruity, and it lends a more authentic taste to Indian food and drinks.
Now, let’s continue.
To create the drink Tamarind Margarita, you’ll need these ingredients:
1 1/2 ounces tequila
1 ounce triple sec
2 ounces lime juice
0.4 ounces orange juice
0.4 ounces simple syrup
0.2 ounces tamarind paste (available at Kalustyan’s in NYC)
To make the drink, shake the tamarind paste with tequila and triple sec until it has dissolved. Add remaining ingredients. Shake well, pour into a salt-rimmed double rocks glass over ice and garnish with a lime wheel.
Another drink inspired by India and Prince Al Zaheed is the…
Mumbai Mango Mojito!
To create this drink you’ll need these ingredients:
1½ oz Malibu Coconut Rum
½ ripe fresh mango
4 sprigs mint
2 limes
10 oz club soda
Directions:
Muddle mango, mint, and the juice of one lime. (Using a ripe mango adds all the sweetness of simple syrup—with added flavor.) Add rum, mix, and then pour into an ice-filled glass.Top off with club soda and a squeeze of lime.
Next up! A drink recipe inspired by Nicky Fangs and Rock & Roll!
